MAFIA: CHICAGO – ASSAULT & MURDER

A woman, believed to be in her 20s, has been found dead, floating in the water at Columbia Wharf in Chicago’s harbor overnight.

Nearby neighbours reported hearing screaming and pleas for help coming from the wharf late in the evening, which triggered calls to police and other emergency services of a possible assault.

Police from the nearby North Western Local Area Command were shortly dispatched, arriving on the scene shortly before 11.30pm.

When they arrived, they found the woman in the water near a ferry wharf, suffering trauma to her neck and upper torso.

Sadly, police were unsuccessful in reviving the young woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

The woman identified as Ms Brianna, is said to be from a prominent Chicago family and a vocal participant in the recent lynching of Mr Calvin.

Mr Eliot Ness, was at the scene the next morning taking notes in his journal and assessing the crime scene. When asked by local reporters he confirmed that the victim had no connection with local illegal activities and was a humble law abiding townsfolk. He added that a local man and suspected mafia hitman, Jacob “Greasy Thumb” Guzik, was being sought in relation to the murder.

Anyone with information is requested to contact Chicago Police.

MAFIA: CHICAGO – DAY 1: PUBLIC MEETING

Chicago’s mayor called a town meeting in the public square this evening to hear the citizens complaints about the illegal undertakings happening after dark. Hired criminologist Eliot Ness, watched on, observing those who were vocal and had lots of criticism of city hall.

This was Ness’ first chance to mingle with the people and begin compiling evidence and observations.

As the meeting went on Eliot noted things in his journal:

  • Tara and Oscar are very vocal about who looked suspicious and seemed to have influence over other citizens. Could these bold personalities have sinister intentions?
  • Jewls, the local bakery owner, seemingly wooed support by offering baked goods at reduced prices. It was noted that she appeared at the town square a lot later than others.
  • Local glazier Ian, seemed more worried about downtime during business hours and the effects on his business than proceedings.

The citizens bayed for blood and insisted their fears were listened to resulting in a show of hands at who the main suspect was. Calvin pointed fingers at Tara whilst Tara returned serve. The mob turned on each other casting their net far and wide.

After much deliberation and a majority vote the mob wasn’t satiated until they had the body of a mobster hanging from the gallows in the town square. Democracy had screamed out its intentions resulting in a show of hands. The town meeting came to an abrupt end as the lifeless body of local villager Calvin dropped violently hanging him from the neck until he was dead, dead, DEAD.

The executioner placed the noose around Calvin’s neck, adjusted it, and then signaled to pull the release lever to the trapdoor below. Hesitant, he froze, before the executioner shouted, “Do it!” and a deputy leaned onto the trigger, which sprang the trap door. Throughout all of this, the crowd was hushed. Calvin fell eight feet and his neck instantly broke. About 14 minutes later, the local doctor confirmed Calvin was dead.

As the curfew sirens wailed, the townsfolk returned to their homes and Eliot returned to his office surprised at the passion of the townsfolk and their insistence on blood. The mafia has eroded the fabric of the town and the citizens won’t rest until they drive this cancer from the streets.

He struck Calvin’s name from his list in his notebook before tucking it into his breast pocket. He was a notable villager with no connection to the mafia.

M A F I A : CHICAGO

SETTING:

The year is 1930.

The National Prohibition Act has banned the production, consumption and distribution of alcohol. In the windy city of Chicago, Illinois is under threat from mobsters, who have created bootlegging rings and controlled the distribution of alcohol and other questionable business dealings and will “knock off” anyone who stands in their way.

Lead by the local shopkeepers union, the citizens of Chicago with the support of the mayor and City Hall, hire criminologist Elliot Ness to eradicate these gangsters, and to bring security back to the dark streets.

During the day Elliot Ness and his band of enforcement agents, dubbed “The Untouchables” are working to find out as much as they can about these mobsters who are decaying the fabric of Chicago’s society. The mafia walk amongst the citizens of Chicago during the day like regular people, but by night they use assault and murder to control the stream of dirty money.

Once night falls over Chicago the underground bars, jazz clubs and speakeasy’s start-up and the mobsters control the streets with thousands of dollars flowing through the seedy underground. Elliot Ness conducts busts and raids trying to pinpoint the ring leaders and shut them down.

AIM:

The aim of the game is to control Chicago.

The mafia wants to eradicate all the key people in city hall to control the streets, whilst the law abiding citizens want to return the city to its safe, beautiful city they long for.

The mobsters will win control of the city when they equal or outnumber the citizens (e.g: 2 mobsters left in a 4 person town) The citizens win when they have removed the scourge by public lynchings and hangings!

GAME PLAY:

Contestants will be given secret roles.

They will be either law-abiding Chicago townsfolk, or mobsters.

DAY:

The citizens of Chicago, made up of both contestant roles, run their businesses and lead normal lives during the day time phase of the game. They are suspicious of each other trying to determine who are the mobsters that walk amongst them. They are free to chat in the group and talk amongst themselves. Each day if enough townsfolk agree, they can choose to lynch a member of the community who they think is a mobster. Each person votes in the public space on whether or not a lynch mob should string someone up and, who should be hung by the neck until they are dead.

NIGHT:

Once the sun sets, a curfew is imposed.

No one is to go outside. No talking in the public space.

The mobsters gather in their speakeasy to discuss business and who stands in their way. They determine who they need to “rub out” to ensure the dirty money continues to flow from their illegal dealings. Mobsters are permitted to talk in their own chat group to determine their course of action against those that stand in their way.

Come morning, the disappearance of someone will be announced to the citizens.

SOURCES:

During the day, Elliot Ness, the prohibition agent and leader of the Untouchables, will give individual citizens random information from their investigations. This could be information regarding people who were seen in the city after curfew, or persons of interest. This valuable information could assist in determining who is on whose side.

WHO WILL GET OUT ALIVE?

WINTER IS COMING – COLD ORDER

During World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union fought together as allies against the Axis powers. However, the relationship between the two nations was a tense one. Americans had long been wary of Soviet communism and concerned about Russian leader Joseph Stalin’s tyrannical, blood-thirsty rule of his own country. For their part, the Soviets resented the Americans’ decades-long refusal to treat the USSR as a legitimate part of the international community as well as their delayed entry into World War II, which resulted in the deaths of tens of millions of Russians. After the war ended, these grievances ripened into an overwhelming sense of mutual distrust and enmity. Postwar Soviet expansionism in Eastern Europe fueled many Americans’ fears of a Russian plan to control the world.

Meanwhile, the USSR came to resent what they perceived as American officials’ bellicose rhetoric, arms buildup and interventionist approach to international relations. In such a hostile atmosphere, no single party was entirely to blame for the Cold War; in fact, some historians believe it was inevitable.

M A F I A

MAFIA is a party game involving a conflict between two groups: an informed minority (the Mafia), and an uninformed majority (the Innocents). At the start of the game, each player is secretly assigned a role affiliated with one of these teams.

The game has two alternating phases: Night, during which the mafia may covertly “murder” an innocent, and Day, in which surviving players debate the identities of the mafia and vote to eliminate a suspect. The game continues until all of the mafia have been eliminated or until the mafia outnumber the innocents.
